Kinect represents an entirely new way for users to interact with their Xbox, and as such presented tremendous challenges in terms of how we would structure the Kinect Hub and user interactions with it. The final product is natural and instinctive to interact with, requiring a minimum of learning time for even the youngest users.
My team is currently in the process of experimenting with ways to extend Kinect gesture and voice control across the entirety of the dash, but as these are prototypes, I cannot show any screenshots or video. You have my apologies.
