Welcome
In both business and art, many showcases are lauded for their sense of balance, color, form, alignment, and contrast. Yet for each masterpiece,
there are any number of other creations that lack a similar sense of balance. There is an ineffable something to great works - a
synthesis of design and content that is greater than the sum of the associated parts. An invisible power and a sense of presence. It's that ephemeral
balance that should be the holy grail for any serious designer: clean lines, useability, and an attractive appearance. That's that balance that makes
an average site into a fantastic one. Searching for that balance is like looking for a hidden god, the 'deus absconditus': you're never sure if you've
found it or not until long after you've stopped looking.
Deus Absconditus
I make no claim that this site and the contents therein are divine, a masterpiece, an ineffable body of works, or any
such loftiness. Rather, this site is simply my attempt to convey a sample of my skills as a designer, as an artist, and as someone perpetually
involved with the web. Consider this an attempt to capture some of that ineffable something - a sample of my ten years of experience with HTML,
graphic design, and web-based coding.
Thanks for stopping by.
Design
This site was coded to be HTML 4.01 Transitional, and it all validates. No, by all means – please check it. I believe there may be one or two
sections of Vox Absconditus, the blog section, that fail to 100% validate. But that’s WordPress in action, not me. Everything within was written,
designed, etched, and tinkered with by me (by hand) until it worked with the exception of the blogging utility, but that’s because I didn’t see any
need to re-invent the wheel. It’s all organic, and it’s all mine. The site was coded using the following:
Check out as much or as little as you like. And if you like what you see, don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
